Overall, the phone is decent for its price and can be a good choice for many, if you can just forgo a few things. But if you cannot, you can take a look at the competitor devices like the OnePlus Nord, Vivo V20 Pro and more. One of the major USPs of this device is that Always On AMOLED for Android it is backed by a massive 7,000mAh battery. With heavy usage, which included watching two Netflix movies, playing over three hours of games, navigation and a few hours of social media, the phone was able to last me for a good two days. Another thing I noted was that whether it was the front camera or the back camera, the device adds a beauty layer on people’s faces even if the beauty mode is turned off.
Samsung is Super AMOLED’s biggest fan, and you’ll often find its phones being talked about in terms of the vibrancy and vividness of the colors – that’s Super AMOLED at work. The technology scores highly for gorgeous-looking colors and very deep blacks. AMOLED traditionally suffered from “burn in,” where pixel quality degraded over time, though this is becoming less of a problem as the technology improves.
Thankfully, WhatsApp took cognizance of the issue and worked on implementing the functionality in its beta version. The feature is now being rolled out widely to more users and should make its way to WhatsApp Desktop in the coming weeks. You can find out more about how WhatsApp’s new video and audio calls will work on its dedicated support page. I do not recommend using this option unless your screen is already trashed.
The circular design, which in many ways was iconic to the Amazfit GTR, is retained on the GTR 2. The two crown buttons — one of which has a red accent — are placed on the right side of the dial, exactly like the previous generation model. People around the internet have been joking about restarting any gadget in the hopes of fixing it. This fix might seem to be suspiciously simple, but sometimes, simple is all you need to make it work.
Put succinctly, this is one fantastic display, with rich, saturated and accurate color. OLEDs have a somewhat limited lifespan compared to LCDs, with brightness dropping somewhat over time. But all things being equal, unless you leave it on 24/7 for a couple of years, that won’t be an issue. If you have the money, you won’t be sorry choosing this AMOLED display.
I’ve had some bad luck in the past with some smartwatches’ ability to accurately track laps swam, so I’ll be interested to see if the Watch Fit fares any better. Sadly I wasn’t going anywhere near a public swimming pool during the Huawei Watch Fit review period so I’ll have to hold out on judgment there. While Huawei claims the SpO2 measurements are “on par with professional equipment,” their own documentation states that the Watch Fit is not a medical device and should be used for reference only. This is a legal obligation regarding certification but still, the SpO2 tracking here is pretty rudimentary with no 24/7 tracking or sleep apnea alerts. I’m already very familiar with Lite OS and the screen layout and navigation, so I quite liked the experience here.
